Dr Shailesh Sable was born in Mumbai .He has completed his education from prestigious institutes in Mumbai and Aurangabad and has more than 11 years of experience in the field of Transplant and hepato biliary surgery.
Shailesh Sable has completed 2 years training in Liver transplantation ( predominantly LDLT) with Dr Vinay Kumaran ( ASTS fellow Liver & MOT surgery, Mch G.I &HPB surgery) and later continued as Consultant with him for another 3 years in Kokilaben Dhirubai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai.
Prior to that he completed his DNB in Surgical Gastroenterology & HPB surgery from Jagjivanram Western Railway hospital, Mumbai under Diplomate of National Board, New Delhi, India which is a sub-specialization degree course ( 3 years) after Masters of surgery & DNB Gen. Surgery ( 3 years).
During his liver transplant training ( 5 years), he has been involved in more than 200 liver transplants (169 LDLT and 31 deceased donor liver transplants , 20 Pediatric liver transplants, 8 ABO-I LDLT, 1 Dual lobe LDLT, 1 combined LDLT with sleeve gastrectomy and 1 Re-do LDLT and 1 SWAP ) at Kokilaben Dhirubai Ambani hospital, Mumbai (June 2013 – Aug 2018) under the guidance of Dr Vinay Kumaran.
He has a very keen interest in research. He has published in various International and national journals. Recently he published on Liver regeneration in donors in Indian journal of Gastroenterology, it is also the first paper on liver regeneration from India.
